Association Al Ihssane is a non -profit, apolitical, association made up of volunteers. Its honorary president is Her Royal Highness, the Princess Lalla Hasnaa.
The association manages the Maison d’Enfants Lalla Hasnaa, the only establishment in the Wilaya of Greater Casablanca Settat that accommodates babies and children deprived of families, from birth to the age of 6.
About one hundred children arrive at the Maison d Enfants every year. Most of them are either abandoned infants , lost children or children whose parents cannot care for them due to a variety of difficult circumstances. Many are physically or mentally handicapped and will spend all their life in the Baouafi centre.
A Word from the delegate President
Our association struggles daily to cover the essential needs of the babies and children it accommodates within the "Maison d Enfants Lalla Hasnaa".
The effective presence of numerous teams who see to the well being and security of the children is required and we are therefore faced with salaries and social charges exceeding 600 000 dirhams per month. A sustainable financial aid would help to alleviate the heavy burden of the payroll and allow us to concentrate even more on the children's well being.
Without help from our partners, volunteers and other benefactors, we cannot continue working to improve the physical psychological as well as educational needs of these children.
Together, let’s ensure that they have a good start in life so that they can become mature responsible citizens .
The missions of the association are multiple:
- To satisfy the children’s elementary needs in all areas
- To ensure continuous training and salaries for a large part of the staff (more than 150 educators and maternal assistants)
- To organise stimulating activities that will promote child development
- To promote and encourage families to give full support to a child through the "Kafala"
- To manage donations, grants and the budget of the Maison d Enfants.
It continues to be a daily challenge to find the financial ressources that will enable the association to maintain its commitments ; the final goal being : finding a family for each of these children.
